Frozen Wonderland

One of the things I love most about the midwest is the fact that we get to experience all 4 seasons. Now that I live back up around Chicago for now, I’m loving getting to feel the bitter colds that come through this area.

Most of our winter so far has been pretty mild on snowfall, but has been extreme as far as temperatures go. I mean, for about 2 weeks straight it wasn’t getting out of the negatives as a high. Personally I loved it, but it’s not the same without snow.

If it’s going to be cold, at least let there be snow. Right?

And then the sky decided to dump about 2 feet of snow! I loved it. Trying to navigate the roads that couldn’t be plowed quick enough - maybe I hit my head, but I seem to be the only one who loves those moments.

Then a slight warm front came in, giving way to a lot of fog in the morning. That ended up leaving most of the moisture frozen on all that it touched - leaving quite a beautiful scene.

This was my frozen wonderland.

There are a few abandoned farms around where I live, and they make great subjects for photographing!
