Colorado is one of my favorite general places in the world and it has some of the best wedding venues if you’re looking for mountains in your lifelong wedding photos.

The Rocky Mountains are without a doubt stunning, so why not make it the backdrop for your wedding day? To aid you in your search for mountain bliss I have compiled six of the most stunning mountain venues to have your wedding.

1. Della Terra

I might be a little biased towards Della Terra Mountain Chateau because my brother got married at this beautiful place. It’s located right outside of Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, making it a great location for your guests. You cannot get much closer than this.

Not only can you explore the National Park, but Estes Park is bustling with cute little shops and restaurants. There is no season that does not showcase the absolute beauty of Della Terra. With the wonder smell of pine to surround you while you say your vows, this place is a little piece of paradise that cannot be overlooked.

2. Spruce Mountain Ranch

If rustic is more your aesthetic, then Spruce Mountain Ranch is for you. Nested about halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs is this beautiful 450-acre wedding venue. It’s a perfect combination of valley fields with the foothills lining the background.

Rich with history and beauty, Spruce Mountain Ranch is well equipped for your wedding. Being in the foothills, this has vast golden fields to set the scene for you to say, “I do.” Exactly what you imagine a cozy outdoor wedding to be.

3.  The Little Nell

Have you always dreamt of getting married on top of a mountain? The Little Nell is that ideal place you think of when you say “let’s get married in the mountains”. Tucked up in Aspen, the drive and the weekend getaway will be SO worth it.

The background of your outdoor wedding is lined with the Rocky Mountains in a stunning overlook. And the inside reception space is extremely elegant. Best of both worlds. In the quiet moments of your special day, The Little Nell has enough space to take a walk with the one you will spend your life with.

4. Garden of the Gods

Not only is the Garden of the Gods park breathtaking, but the Garden of the Gods Resort offers a classic mountain backdrop along with the red stunners of this place. There is nothing quite like it. The formations are nothing short of spectacular. The Resort offers a beautiful reception place with a beautiful outdoor ceremony site. This venue option is one that should not be overlooked.

5. San Sophia Overlook

The San Sophia Overlook is as beautiful as it sounds. Located in a ski resort in Telluride, Colorado, this venue is only accessible by gondola, bringing you up above the town and to a larger-than-life wedding deck. Cue the backdrop of your dreams!

Telluride also offers guests a lot of beautiful views, cute shops, and plenty of things to do. The outdoor ceremony location is surrounded on all sides with the towering Rocky Mountains. Definitely a no-brainer.

6. Ten Mile Station

If you’re looking for a wedding venue that doubles as a great spot in Breckinridge, then Ten Mile Station is your wedding venue. Ten Mile Station is another venue on this list that offers that “I’m on top of the world” feeling that only being on top of a mountain can bring.

Positioned right up in the mountains, surrounded by beautiful flowers and scenes in the summer, Ten Mile Station in Colorado is a wonderful wedding venue. The reception area is within a log cabin, giving it a homely feeling but keeping its elegance.

Whether you choose the mountains, the foothills, or a resort (like The Garden of the Gods), each of these locations offer their own unique scene to make your day special. While there are more venues that offer beautiful views and landscapes, these stand out from the others due to their jaw dropping backdrops.

You certainly will not be disappointed with the view if you choose any of these venues. Beautifully enough, if you’re looking for a wedding photographer who loves the mountains more than anything, I actually offer a discount when you book at any of these venues. WE SHOULD CHAT!
