Should You Hold Off Planning Your Wedding Due to COVID-19?

The short answer: no

I know that things are crazy-uncertain at this time with COVID-19, but planning your wedding shouldn’t get put on the back burner. There are so many reasons to keep forging ahead and planning, but the most important reason is to keep fostering the mentality of being husband and wife. But, you knew that.

So what are some of the other important reasons you shouldn’t hold off planning your wedding?

1. Important Growth for Your Marriage

   This is a great time to understand how you and your partner react and act in difficult situations that are unplanned. If you’re anything like me, this has made me realize how much I don’t control. So, have those difficult conversations about things or decisions being made that are out of your control. How will you, as a married couple, work through that together?
   
   

2. Helps Out Small Businesses

   You’ve heard it a million times at this point: help out small businesses during this time. Well they aren’t wrong. The more you continue to work with those vendors you’ve booked (or haven’t yet booked), the bigger a chance they’ll do incredible things for you. As a small business owner, I know that I’m doing everything I can right now to help my couples in whatever way I can.
   
   

3. When This is Over, You Won’t Be Late to Book

   The truth of our situation is that everyone is being refrained from doing things they would normally do. So, when this has all passed, there will no doubt be a floodgate of people wanting to do all the things: book that dream venue, book your florist you’ve wanted, finally commit to a wedding photographer. And there’s only so many clients one can have on the same date and most can only commit to ONE couple on a wedding day. You might as well secure a spot and a name in their books.
   
   

4. You Can Save a Lot Right Now

   Speaking of small businesses, a lot of vendors are doing discounts to help people out during this time. Discounts, payment plans, offers – these are all things that I’ve seen some great businesses give out. Definitely ask vendors if they could make payment plans for you to help in any way.
